ASSISTANT ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE (New York Office)

Eager to brainstorm big ideas to promote the world’s leading getaways?

Development Counsellors International (DCI) is seeking an energetic Assistant Account Executive to join our NYC office to service destination client accounts.

Job entails researching and writing press releases and pitches, building target media lists, telephone pitching to secure editorial placements, developing consumer promotions, special event planning, travel trade outreach, database and archive management, and reporting.

Position Requirements:

  • This junior-level position requires up to one-year of public relations experience at an agency or DMO.
  • Excellent writing and research skills
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Fluency in Spanish a plus

Salary $28,000-$32,000, based on experience, plus benefits.

ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE (Denver Based)

Job Description:

We’re looking to hire someone with at least 2 – 3 years of PR/marketing experience to provide media relations, marketing support, and writing and research capabilities to a growing roster of clients including (but not limited to) Metro Denver, Wyoming, San Diego, Houston and Saskatchewan.

Position Requirements: 

  • Proven media relations skills: DCI has a successful track record of placing quality, high-profile media results that promote the business assets of our clients
  • A solid understanding of how to craft a "newsworthy" pitch
  • Experience in developing online campaigns using all forms of social media
  • Excellent writing and research skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively over the phone and in person to a business audience
  • A portfolio of stories placed (if you don’t have this, you’ll need to pitch us on why you’re the right candidate anyway)
  • A genuine interest in the business press – in other words, a news junky who likes watching Anderson Cooper as much as American Idol and reading the Wall Street Journal as much as People Magazine
  • An interest in business marketing – our firm advises clients how to best market themselves to attract investment and create jobs

Beyond the Above Requirements, We're Looking for Someone With:

  • A goal-oriented, "can do" attitude
  • An entrepreneurial spirit
  • A degree in Journalism is strongly preferred
  • Strong communication/presentation skills 
  • Creative problem-solving abilities
  • A self-starter who is independently-motivated, and has the discipline to work in a home office
  • Fluency in languages is a definite plus
